FMA TEST UNITS FOR MEASUREMENT OF:
Hydrogen
Hydrogen in aluminium results in gasporosity, surface failure at surfacetreatment, hot cracks at thermal treatment, micro explosion at welding, bad mechanical properites, influences the castability etc.
The control of hydrogen content is a must for high quality casting and optimized production.
ALU SPEED TESTER
One device - four measurements
The «ALU SPEED TESTER» developed by FMA, can be used to take four measurements. It is a hydrogen measurement tester which can in addition measure density samples and do the Dross and Straube-Pfeiffer test.
The device distinguishes itself due to its compactness, easy operation and speed. Hydrogen measurement can be completed in less than a minute.
This device has USB, Ethernet, and RS232 as standard interfaces, storage of measuring results on device, display of results on a colour display, and setting parameters with touch screen. In addition, with our software, data can be graphically displayed, statistically evaluated, and transferred into other programmes.

ALU COMPACT II
The «ALU COMPACT II» is a hydrogen measuring device which distinguishes itself due to its compactness, easy operation and speed. Hydrogen measurement can be completed in less than one minute, that is why the «ALU COMPACT II» alongside the «ALU SPEED TESTER» is the fastest device available on the market. In addition no warm up time is needed for this device. Hydrogen measurement with the «ALU COMPACT II» is based on the first gas bubble principle of Y. Dardel.
The device has USB as standard interface, storage of measuring results on device, display of results on a colour display, and setting parameters with touch screen. In addition, with our software, data can be graphically displayed, statistically evaluated, and transferred into other programmes.

CHAPEL® PORTABLE
With the «CHAPEL® PORTABLE» the hydrogen content in liquid aluminium can be measured. The «CHAPEL® PORTABLE» is the only device worldwide, with which through a method of direct determination and continously the measurement of the hydrogen content can be carried out.
The device distinguishes itself due to its compactness and easy operation. In the centre there are two separate user interfaces, through which the device can be easily operated.
The «CHAPEL® PORTABLE» probe reacts in liquid metal like an artificial bubble. It excels due to its outstanding temperature shock resistance. In addition, it has a life expectancy of more than a year and has excellent resistority in aluminium melts. Numerous possibilities for data storage and transference to the PC are implemented (RS232, Ethernet connection, USB).
